Post Tenure-track positions at Brooklyn College/CUNY
THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, BROOKLYN COLLEGE of the CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK (CUNY): Tenure-track positions (two) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. (1) Organizational Psychology. For this position, candidates with a strong background in organizational and social psychology with research interests that complement those of existing faculty in the department are encouraged to apply. (2) Health Psychology. For this position we seek candidates whose research interests focus on issues relating to Health Psychology and are integrative with traditional content areas (such as cognition, development, neuroscience, social psychology), and/or who are conducting research with diverse and underserved populations.
Brooklyn College of the City University of New York is an urban, public institution that provides access to outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts and sciences, business, and education, and a vibrant core curriculum in the liberal arts, to students of all backgrounds. It is situated in one of the most dynamic and diverse communities in the country. The Psychology Department is part of the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences and houses the CUNY Psychology doctoral subprogram in Cognition, Brain, and Behavior. In addition, we offer masters level programs in Experimental Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, and two programs in Organizational Psychology (organizational behavior; human relations) with a new program, human resource management, under consideration by CUNY. Existing connections with other Departments and Schools in the College and across CUNY offer the opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and research.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree, a strong record of scholarly productivity, and the ability to develop and sustain a research program supported by external funding. The individuals selected will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to mentor doctoral students. The recruitment of diverse faculty is a high priority of both the College and the Department, and we encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups.
The review of applications will begin November 7, 2011, and will continue until the positions are filled. Interested applicants should submit an application online by visiting http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/faculty2012. Please be sure to upload a cover letter, statements of professional goals and teaching philosophy, supporting documents (representative publications, evidence of teaching experience and proficiency), and a curriculum vitae. In addition, all applicants should arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation (referencing Job ID 4590 Organizational or 4598 Health) to be sent directly to: Professor Margaret-Ellen (Mel) Pipe, Department of Psychology, Brooklyn College, CUNY, 2900 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11210. Inquiries can be addressed to Professor Pipe by telephone (718-951-5601) or by email mepipe@Brooklyn.CUNY.edu).
All positions are subject to financial availability.
