
Postdoc position announcement at Northwestern University
NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY invites applications for an anticipated postdoctoral researcher/project director position starting in September, 2010 for the Youth Emotion Project, currently in its eighth year. The position involves primary responsibility for the overall smooth functioning and coordination of the Northwestern site of a two-site, NIMH-funded longitudinal study of risk for the development of anxiety and depressive disorders which originally started with 17 year old high school students. In addition, the project director will conduct and supervise diagnostic and stressful life events interviews, coordinate with the second site (UCLA), and contribute to publications from this study. Some time will also be available for the project director to be able to initiate his/her own research studies, collaborate with graduate students and recruit undergraduate research assistants to assist in his/her research. Experience in the areas of anxiety, depression, normal and abnormal personality traits, quantitative methods, adolescent/ early adult development and/or diagnostic interviewing are a plus. The term of the appointment is two years, with possible extension.
